How to change the depth of your swimming pool in minutes
In last month’s article about moveable floors for swimming pools, we looked at how pools installed with this innovative system allows you to maximise your living space. Once only available in the most lavish of bespoke pool builds, state-of- the-art movable floor technology is now also available for newly built family-sized pools, bringing the space-saving and flexible use benefits to many more people.
Previously, we touched upon how easy it is to operate a moveable floor and that the floor mechanism takes a matter of minutes to rise from the bottom of the pool to the top, covers the entire pool and secures the water under the cover. This makes the surface instantly available for whatever activity you can imagine, from a spot of dancing to afternoon tea.
No Need to be in at the deep end!
The other big advantage of a pool with a movable floor is the ability to adjust the water depth to suit different swimmers in your family or friends who use your pool. You have complete control over whether you set the pool for full depth (6 feet deep) swimming or have different depths, such as a shallow pool for children.
If a family member is a learner, they may not feel very confident in a full depth pool – if this is the case the movable floor can be adjusted to a level that boosts their confidence as they practice their swimming strokes. As they progress and gain confidence, the movable floor can be lowered to create greater depth. And, of course, some people simply don’t like to feel ‘out of their depth’ in a particular water level, so they too can adjust the level to their preference.

Swimming is particularly recommended for people with a physical disability or anyone recovering from injury as it alleviates pressure on joints and muscles greatly, reducing the effects of gravity to give a feeling of weightlessness.
