A space saving pool may sound like a contradiction in terms, but it is a reality! Many people love the idea of a private swimming pool and while they can be built in different sizes, they do still require a significant amount of space. If you’re going to have your own pool, you will want it to make a statement, so the amount of space allocated to it is important.
Movable floors
For many clients who install an inground luxury pool, devoting space to a pool is not an issue, but others want to maximise all the space in their homes, so assigning a large amount of space to one social activity is not for them. That’s where moving floor pools come into play – they provide a superb option for people who want a pool and the ability to make the pool vanish when they want!
This space saving marvel allows the pool to be completely closed off in just a few minutes, transforming the indoor or outdoor pool space back to its original form. So, the pool patio transforms back to a normal patio, and an indoor pool hall reverts to a typical room. The space is then ready for any other social gathering – from parties to children’s play dates. Being able to reclaim the space where the pool is located is the main reason for people choosing a moving floor pool, but there are other benefits.
Customising the depth of the pool
Apart from being able to use the pool area for multiple purposes, pool owners can customise the depth of the pool to match the swimming needs of different family members. Being able to adjust the water depth is great for families with small children who are learning to swim, and the water can be made deeper as children grow up and gain more confidence in the water. Likewise, at a lower depth, the pool can be used for hydrotherapy exercise.

How do they work?
The moving floor uses advanced technology, making a complex process very simple to operate. We are often asked “where does the water go when the floor is raised?” People imagine that water will escape from inside the pool as the floor is lowered, but this simply cannot happen.
As the floor is being raised, the water in the pool falls to the side of the rising floor and settles beneath it where it is held securely until the pool floor is lowered once again and the sparkling water revealed.
