We're celebrating 40 years as London’s premier pool company

London Swimming Pool Company (LSPC) celebrates its 40 anniversary this year. The company was started in 1984 by Tony Line, as a small operation but quickly grew and moved into offices in Southfields in 1993. This allowed the company to employ more staff and to design and build more luxury pools. The company continued to grow, resulting in another office move in 2014, this time to New Malden in Surrey in the UK where the company operates today.

By 2010 LSPC had created a Servicing Company and seven years later added a dedicated Refurbishment Company – the combination of services means that today LSPC provides a truly integrated range of pool and spa services to both private and commercial clients (eg hotels and schools) based in London and the Home Counties.

LSPC is London’s premier pool company with many industry awards to testify to its expertise – the company designs, builds and maintains a wide variety of pools, from simple lap pools to complex swimming pools. It has achieved this success by working with people in the pool industry, particularly in the early years, who willingly shared their wisdom and by collaborating with world-class equipment manufacturers who provide advanced technologies for their pool design and installations.

LSPC’s growth is primarily due to the calibre of its staff and their dedication – they put client satisfaction at the heart of everything they do. Managing director Jamie Smith stays close to the coal face – he is integral to pool projects and is known to visit clients at the outset of a project and when a new pool is commissioned.

Jamie Smith is celebrating his 26th year with LSPC this year and said: "I am very proud of what we have achieved, particularly when the world 'shut down' during Covid, and we had to find new ways to continue serving our clients.

“Many of our pools have been highly complex installations, and we have always been able to embrace new trends such as moveable floors, stainless steel pools, counter-current units and underwater windows - all these features are now popular with clients looking for a new luxury pool. Another example of keeping on trend is the recent addition of cold water therapy Chill Tubs to our portfolio.

“We also like to push ourselves on the promotional front - one of our extreme challenges was designing and building a 14m fully tiled mosaic infinity edge pool in just 16 days for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show back in 2006. The pool was the centrepiece of a garden designed by Andy Sturgeon for Cancer Research UK’s major cancer prevention campaign. It was the first time that a swimming pool on this scale was featured at the show and focused on the benefits of home swimming as part of a healthier lifestyle. Andy Sturgeon’s garden with our pool won Gold at the Chelsea Flower Show and we went to win the highest pool design accolade in the pool industry awards!
