On Top of the World – Well, Mont Blanc!
We are proud to announce that our partner in a pool project in the West Country has completed an amazing feat to raise funds for an injured servicemen’s charity.
Adam Elcock, managing director of Elcock Associates, chartered surveyors in Christchurch, Dorset, ascended Mont Blanc in an unaided climb for the charity Pilgrim Bandits Charity. Adam was joined by fellow mountaineer Eddie Hill from Juno Developments who also raised funds.
At nearly 16,000ft (4696 metres) Mont Blanc is the tallest mountain in Europe and one of the toughest to climb. Climbing unaided requires mountaineers to climb and sleep on the mountain, carry all their equipment, food and water weighing around 50kg, with no professional mountain-guides.
Adam, who raised a terrific £4,000 for Pilgrim Bandits Charity said, “Climbing Mont Blanc is an extreme a challenge. I wanted to do something remarkable to raise money for this outstanding charity. Something that would really push me physically and mentally. Just like Pilgrim Bandits pushes injured servicemen and veterans.”
Well done from all at London Swimming Pool Company!
