How can an automatic chemical dosing system benefit my pool?
The chemical makeup of your pool water is extremely important to both the safety and usability of your pool. If your pool water tastes salty, has changed colour or turned cloudy, or if you find yourself constantly relying on chemical additives to keep your pool water clean, there may be an issue with your pool’s chemical composition. This could lead to long-term issues requiring careful correction, upkeep, and maintenance. Thankfully, there’s a solution.
Chlorine is perhaps the most important chemical used to keep the water sanitised and ensure an enjoyable swimming experience. Chemical dosing systems are designed specifically to address issues of upkeep and correction by automatically ensuring the levels of chlorine in the water remain steady. As Bayrol, one of our suppliers, points out: “Whenever necessary, the dosing system calculates the required amount of treatment product needed, and reliably doses the exact amount into your pool.” In other words, by using a pump mechanism, a dosing system will calculate and introduce an exact dosage of chlorine into the pool water system.
So what are the benefits?
Chemical dosing systems are small, effective pieces of kit which integrate seamlessly with your pump room equipment. This means they operate at a significantly lower margin of error in terms of adding chemical dosages to water than humans by managing the two key criteria for pure, clean swimming water: pH and disinfection. The obvious benefit of an automatic chemical dosing system is that it provides continuous (24/7) stability to the chemical makeup of pool water.
This not only keeps the pool water healthy and sanitised, as we’ve already discussed – it also means you have much less to worry about in terms of maintenance. They are like invisible devices in terms of the day-to-day functioning of a pool, yet provide a huge boost to the health and quality of pool water.
Automatic chemical dosing systems may not be the cheapest pool upkeep solution on the market, but they’re certainly one of the most effective. A year-round, balanced pool chemistry not only helps to provide an optimal chemical composition and swimming experience but can also reduce servicing and maintenance demands. While pool owners will still need pool chemicals, using an automatic dosing system bypasses the hassle of measuring pool chemicals.
Chris Walker, LSPC's Head of Servicing said, "We check automatic chemical dosing systems during each regular servicing visit, or you can request a check separately if required. Keeping an eye on your chemical dosing system means less time spent rectifying problems and more time enjoying your clean, crystal-clear pool."
